Our mission

Working in partnership with each family in the community, it is the mission of Akira Academy to educate responsible, lifelong learners so that each student possesses the skills, knowledge, creativity, sense of self-worth, and values necessary to thrive in and contribute to a diverse and changing world. We will provide quality child care services with an emphasis on science, technology, engineering, the arts and math. We will celebrate the child and encourage their curiosity while teaching them to explore, question, create and grow through engagement and hands on experiences. We will provide services that will foster the growth and development of the whole child and the family as well.

Our Goal

Our program’s goal is to provide a high-quality early learning program meeting each child’s needs, including children with disabilities and peers from the community. Our schools provide a rich learning environment that encourages children’s natural curiosity and supports them to take risks that lead to new skill development. It is a setting where children feel safe, respected, and cared for. This is an opportunity for children to take part in planned, active learning experiences guided by our innovative curriculum.

Our Curriculum

At Akira Academy, we offer a comprehensive and engaging curriculum that focuses on the whole child and covers all developmental domains, including cognitive, social-emotional, physical, and language development. In addition, we incorporate STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) principles into our curriculum, helping children develop their critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity skills.

Our STEM-based curriculum is designed to introduce children to the world of science and technology through age-appropriate activities, experiments, and projects. We believe that STEM learning should be hands-on and interactive, encouraging children to ask questions, explore their environment, and discover new things.

Our cognitive curriculum is designed to promote learning and development through play and exploration. We use a variety of materials and activities to foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity skills, including science experiments, art projects, and sensory play.

Our social-emotional curriculum is designed to help children develop strong social skills, empathy, and self-awareness. We use positive reinforcement and praise to promote positive behaviors and build self-esteem. We also incorporate group activities and games to help children develop teamwork and cooperation skills.

Our physical curriculum is designed to promote gross motor and fine motor development. We incorporate outdoor play, yoga, and movement activities to help children develop their physical abilities and coordination.

Our language curriculum is designed to promote language development, literacy skills, and communication. We use a variety of activities, including storytelling, puppetry, and music, to help children develop their language skills and love of books.

At Akira Academy, we believe that a well-rounded curriculum should also include cultural and diversity experiences. We incorporate activities that introduce children to different cultures, traditions, and celebrations, helping them develop an appreciation for diversity and understanding of different people.

We also believe in ongoing assessment and evaluation to ensure that our curriculum is meeting the individual needs of each child. Our teachers observe and document children's progress and provide ongoing feedback to parents to ensure that they are involved and informed about their child's development.
