Celebrating Gratitude and Growth: November at Akira Academy

As the leaves continue to fall and the air grows crisp, November invites us to reflect on gratitude and the many things we have to be thankful for at Akira Academy. This month is all about embracing the season of giving, cultivating learning, and creating warm, joyful memories for our children, families, and staff.

Highlights from Our Classrooms

This November, our classrooms are buzzing with engaging activities that foster curiosity and creativity:

- Young Toddlers: Exploring the theme of "Fall Fun," our young learners are diving into sensory activities like leaf collages, pumpkin painting, and storytime with seasonal favorites.

- Pre-K Counts: Our Pre-K students are working on gratitude projects, such as creating "Thankful Trees," where they share what they are most grateful for at school and home.

- Infant Room: Under Ms. Marquita’s nurturing guidance, our littlest learners are enjoying soothing sensory experiences, seasonal songs, and plenty of cuddles to keep them warm.

Special Events

Family Thanksgiving Feast

On Wednesday, November 20th, we invite all families to join us for our annual Family Thanksgiving Feast. This cherished tradition brings us together to share a meal and celebrate the bond between our school and families. Stay tuned for RSVP details in your Brightwheel app.

Giving Back: Canned Food Drive

Throughout the month, we are hosting a canned food drive to support our local community. Let’s teach our children the joy of giving by contributing to those in need. Donations can be dropped off in the main lobby from November 1st to 22nd.

Teacher Spotlight

This month, we’re proud to highlight Charlotte Dallam, Tayviana Patrick, and Tah'Myah Spratley, assistant teachers who are currently enrolled in a CDA program. Their commitment to professional growth and excellence inspires us all, and we’re grateful for their dedication to nurturing young minds.

School Closures: Akira Academy will be closed on Thursday, November 28th, and Friday, November 29th, in observance of Thanksgiving.
